Every year we challenge our participants with guts to take our Easter endurance run.  This year we planned to include a kids and family fun run... but alas we have had to cancel the event due to pandemic restrictions.  But please stay tuned as we will be back with more fun running and events for you.

THE GUT BUSTER FORMAT:

INCLUDES a fun race for families and kids, a fancy dress race, and a team relay race.

Starting outside the Waimarino Museum in Raetihi, it's an out & back course with options to suit most.  The 18k has been completed by a 6 year old, even though it has a sharp 2k climb before the turnaround. The 50k is hotly contested by locals & out-of-towners, even though it's a 'fun ride'.

This year the 'Timing Team" will have a gate at the Pipiriki end to allow those doing the one way trip to get an official time and those doing the round trip can get a split  time, let the competitiveness in you Win!

The road is sealed all the way. 

The 25km 'downhill' option, is a fantastic race through some amazing country side and scenery.  This option allows you to ride down to Pipiriki and experience the road (there are still some big hills), with the luxury of getting a bus back.  This year we are looking to have this race timed; The bus(es) leave once the last rider has arrived, so take some money to buy an icecream while you wait.

For those who prefer feet to bikes, we have an 18km fun run. It follows the same course as the 18k bike ride and is a challenge to all runners - amateur or very serious. 

Start / Finish area at the Museum has a market day atmosphere, entertainment, food stalls, A dunkin stool and other fun events.
